...a lack of inspiration.
I have brazenly stolen this idea from .
The first THIRTY people to comment on this journal will get a piece of writing (poetry only, please) from me because I haven't written anything in a while and I need some help in the inspiration department.
What can you do to help little ol' me?
1. Comment on this journal
2. Give me an idea what you'd like the poem to be about
3. Mention any other pertinent information/specifics (i.e. "I want a haiku" or "I want something that rhymes")
Nothing is forbidden, everything is permitted, people! Help an amateur writer out!

Stop, collaborate, and listen
Hello my dear, dear Watchers!
How are you wonderful folks?
Things are pretty great on my end...but I haven't really written much in a looooooong time, and this is where you come in! My lovely, lovely Watchers, will you collaborate with me? Any of you? All of you? We can write anything from rhyming couplets to sonnets. Introduce me to your favourite form! I can do serious or silly. I'm open to anything. I'll try everything, at least twice(and then once more, seven years later, in case my tastes have changed! ;)) Shoot me a note and let's make beautiful poetry together. Or prose. I'm also up for prose.
OK, now that the shameless begging is o
New Artist Highlight
Hello, hello! Welcome to DailyLitRecognition (https://www.deviantart.com/dailylitrecognition)'s first New Artist Highlight! Once a month, isabellaswancullen (https://www.deviantart.com/isabellaswancullen) and I(aka draecana (https://www.deviantart.com/draecana)) will choose an artist new to deviantArt and feature them in an article. We will pick out a couple pieces from their gallery and have a little Q&A time with the writer.
So, without further ado, the feature.
This month, we have chosen an artist very new to the dA scene; the spectacular soulspoken (https://www.deviantart.com/soulspoken)!

Full of hope and love, and poignant in its simplicity, this piece speaks to the freedom to be found in both. A lovely, lovely first submission in a quickly g
Third time's the charm
Hello hello!
I've learned some very important things over the past few weeks;
1) The kindness of strangers is absolutely amazing.
2) I'm not only capable of functioning with a broken heart, I'm capable of healing and jumping into the fray again. Without fear.
3) It's not in my nature to be negative for very long. I am simply incapable of being so. It's exhausting and wasteful. In the words of E.E.Cummings,
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."
Life's too short to not go all in, all the time. So, I'm going to keep falling in love like it's the first time, I'm going to keep being fearless and ridiculously che
I can see it coming from the edge of the room
I feel angrysadlonelybrokendead. I'm losing hope, floundering, drowning. And I don't know how to stop this, how to save myself this time. I keep telling myself that I'm strong, I keep smiling, but I can feel my insides crumbling. There's a dead spot in my heart and it hurts so goddamn much. I can barely breathe. There's this pressure building up in me, filling me, and I don't know how to deal with it. It's too much. It's killing me.
